Digital Health Africa 2025.
3-4 September 2025
Practical insights into potential applications for today's — and tomorrow's — healthcare
Thank you for joining us!
Thank you for joining us at the second international Digital Health Africa Conference (DHA-2025) “The Future of Healthcare on the Continent.”
This was held together with our sister event, the first-ever Pharmacometrics Africa Conference (PMXAC-2025) under the theme “Celebrating a New Era for Pharmacometrics in Africa: Building on Global Momentum”. We were also thrilled to co-host 2 side-events: a convening of experts to reflect on “Digital Transformation of Medicines Regulation in Africa” and a technical training workshop on nlmixr, the open source non-linear mixed effects modeling software.
The innovative climate-friendly format offered the opportunity to hold hybrid meetings at multiple physical sites together with virtual participation – thus maximising reach and serving as a blueprint for future similar events.
The conference was hosted by the Charité Center for Global Health, Charité University Medicine Berlin (Germany), the Infectious Diseases Institute, Makerere University College of Health Sciences, Kampala (Uganda), The Innovation Hub, the innovation agency of the Gauteng Province in Pretoria (South Africa), as well as Pharmacometrics Africa and Fundisa African Academy for Medicines Development, both based in Cape Town (South Africa).
We attracted a total of 283 registered delegates with 98 live online attendees during the 2 days. The in-person delegates comprised 74 in Berlin, 63 delegates in Kampala and 48 delegates in Pretoria. The regulatory side-event “Digital Transformation of Medicines Regulation in Africa” on 2 September attracted 415 registrations with 336 attending, while the satellite Pharmacometrics Africa Conference on 5 September had 91 registered delegates.
See you at the next event!

About the Conference
The Digital Health Africa Conference (DHA-2024) has successfully showcased progress in digital health, telemedicine, precision medicine, real-world evidence, pharmacometrics and artificial intelligence and how these can advance healthcare delivery across Africa.
Our second Digital Health Africa Conference, DHA-2025, will provide further practical insights in the potential applications of digital technologies, using maternal and child health, major unique challenges of medicine in Africa, as important examples. Topics of interest will include patient registries, safety signals, vaccine use in pregnancy/breastfeeding, labelling of vaccines in pregnancy, emerging infections and antibiotic resistance, telemedicine, pharmacometric modelling, precision medicine, medicines regulation, ethical and legal aspects, and capability enhancement.
Applying an integrated multi-site face-to-face and remote format, this hybrid Conference will use digital tools to allow delegates and speakers from three different regions, South Africa, Uganda and Germany, as well as fully virtual participants to engage with one another. This will offer a nexus for collaboration and networking to promote partnerships among local and international stakeholders as well as capacity building for young scientists. Delegates will have the opportunity to engage with experts from industry, academia, healthcare providers, government and regulatory agencies as well as patient representatives to learn from one another and to gain valuable insights into the latest trends and best practices in digital health.
To achieve sustainable outcomes, the format of the Conference will offer researchers/clinicians, academic and institutional stakeholders the opportunity to establish new initiatives dedicated to maternal/child health and to form long-lasting practical networks for implementation.
