Getting to the Biomedical Research Institute (BMRI)

Front Gate

Access to the Medicine and Health Sciences campus is controlled at the front gate. You may be asked for an ID as you pass this checkpoint. Please ensure that you use the lane designated for visitors if you have no Stellenbosch University access cards.

Parking

Parking is free of charge.

Friday, 23 February 2024:
Please park in the P5 parking lot next to the BMRI, using the code 5873#

Saturday, 24 February 2024:
Please park in the P5 parking lot next to the BMRI – no code is required.

Accessing the Conference Venue

The main sessions of the conference will be held in room 1004 of the Biomedical Research Institute (BMRI) on the ground floor. Enter using the main entrance on the right of the building and follow the signs

Registration & Payment

Conference registration will open at 8:30 on 23 February in the lobby of the BMRI. 

If you have not yet been able to pay for your ticket, there will be the possibility to pay with cash.

All delegates (regardless of virtual or in-person attendance) will receive access to the zoom events platform as a part of their ticket. This enables delegates to not miss out on any sessions they might have missed.

During the Conference

We will inform all delegates directly should there be any changes to the programme.

Food and Beverages

Every effort has been made to accommodate dietary requirements (vegetarian, Halal, etc.) Should you have any questions about ingredients used in the food served, please ask one of the catering staff on-hand.

Wifi

Wifi is provided via EduRoam.

If you already have access to EduRoam through your institution, school or alumni program, please use the login that entity has provided you with.

If you do not already have access to EduRoam, you will be given temporary credentials at the time of registration – these credentials are valid for the duration of the conference.

Bathrooms

Gender-neutral bathrooms are clearly marked and available throughout the facility. 

Should you need help finding one, please ask one of the staff on duty.

Prayer Facilities

Please ask conference staff for more information

Breastfeeding and Childcare Facilities

A room for breastfeeding mothers is available – please ask one of our staff for directions.

Childcare must be arranged prior during your online registration. If you require this during your visit, please contact the team directly as soon as possible so they can assist.

Medical Assistance

Medical assistance is available in case of emergencies. Should something happen, please notify conference staff immediately.

ATM

A cash machine is available on-campus. Credit cards are not accepted by the conference organisers.

Meeting Rooms / Workspaces

Meeting rooms are not provided in the case that delegates wish to hold their own side meetings or have meetings. However, there are some tables and workspace pods in the BMRI main lobby.

Power sockets for laptops, phone charging, etc. in the main venue is not available.
